Mountain Soundtrack for Skyscrapers – Sound Installation at the exhibition
“Software” at the Zuidas Amsterdam
The area of the Zuidas is growing quickly. With its highrise it gives a three-
dimensional relief to the flat landscape of The Netherlands. Mountain Sound-
track for Skyscrapers changes the urban sound-environment into that of a
mountain landscape. In a subtle way an atmosphere is created with the
sound of a day in the mountains, of birds in the morning, the wind in the trees,
the crickets at sunset. In this way an experience of a completely different
scenario is suggested with seemingly unimportant sound that determines the
ambient.
